Made on Sundays.
Kronions started as a house rule. A regular Oh Hell game, one lazy Sunday, somebody said: what if a card could just… skip the rules? Ten minutes of arguing later we had paradox cards. Future, Past, declared at the moment of play. The game broke in the good way and we never really went back.
A few years of playing it with a deck of hand-sharpied paradox cards later, we built a version anyone could open in a browser and try. No accounts, no installs, no nonsense. Share a code, deal, bid.
What we care about
Kronions is a hobby project that we want to stay a hobby project. That means:
- No ads. We'd rather pay for the server than run ads on the site.
- No accounts. Your identity is a name you type. That's it.
- No tracking that matters. Product analytics, maybe, to see what works. Behavioral profiles, no.
- Rules on the server. Scoring, legal plays, who wins the trick — all decided server-side so nobody can "just refresh."
What's next
A pile of small things: ranked seasons for people who want them, optional variant rules, a bot mode for solo nights, and — someday — a physical deck. Progress is deliberately slow. It's a card game, not a funding round.
If you have thoughts, bug reports, or a great paradox story, we'd love to hear them.
